Algérie Telecom is a state-owned public joint-stock company belonging to the portfolio of the Algérie Telecom Group operating in the field of telecommunications, fixed telephony and the Internet. It was created in accordance with Law 03/2000 of August 5, 2000, relating to the restructuring of the postal and telecommunications sector, which clearly separates postal activities from telecommunications activities and establishes the general rules relating to postal and telecommunications services. This is in line with the decisions of the Council of State (CNPE) of March 1, 2001, which resulted in the creation of a public economic institution called Algérie Telecom

Algérie Telecom Satellite
On July 29, 2006, the Algerian Telecommunications Satellite Company was established as a subsidiary of the Algerian Telecommunications Group, with a main mission of developing and promoting satellite communications, which is one of the most important areas of the development strategy of the Algerian Telecommunications Group.
The structure of the Algerian Telecommunications Satellite Company includes a general directorate around which are five regional directorates Algiers, Oran, Ouargla, Bechar, Constantine and two antennas Setif and Annaba, in addition to a communication station in Lakhdaria.

The former Algerian Telecommunications Infrastructure Company – (.E.T.C.) was established in 2007 to operate and manage the surplus of raw optical fiber coming from its suppliers’ networks. Its goal is to provide this surplus to its customers to ensure better quality of service and reliability. The Algerian Telecommunications Infrastructure Company has a raw optical fiber network with a total distance of more than 5,600 kilometers.
